Swine Flu

Koreans aren't the only ones falling for the media scare about the swine flu but they are the ones I get to see daily. Here are a couple of comments passed onto me this weekend:

Number 1: Don't eat Samgyupsal. Doesn't matter that the media is saying pork is alright there are people out there scared of the stuff. More fatty bacon for me then.

Number 2: Avoid Itaewon. There are too many foreigners that hang out there and they are obviously the ones who would be sick. Nice to see prejudices in play.

It's stupid how people can be made to panic but like last year's American beef scare it's fun to see how quickly Koreans can be made to overreact.
